Carthage is set to reinforce local speed limits. Mayor Vivians said in a recent announcement that due to excessive speeding especially right in town speed limits would be emphasized and tickets would be given out to any one speeding.
Some areas of town including residential streets have speed limits of 20 miles per hour or less and according to city officials people have not been maintaining the limit and creating a potential hazard.
