Central Electric Prepares for Hurricane Francine

SHARE NOW

As Hurricane Francine approaches, Central Electric Power Association has activated its
emergency response plan and is taking necessary steps to ensure we are prepared for
potential impacts. Our team is fully ready to respond to any outages once it is safe to do so.
Restoration efforts will not begin until damage assessments have been made and weather
conditions allow for the safe deployment of our crews.

We strongly encourage members who rely on life-saving medical devices to have a backup
plan in place, as we cannot guarantee uninterrupted power throughout the storm. Safety is
our priority, and we are urging all members to take precautions.

If you are using a generator, do NOT plug it directly into your home’s wiring. Doing so can
create dangerous backfeed and pose a risk to our linemen. Also, please stay away from
downed power lines.

To report an outage, please visit www.centralepa.com and click on Report an Outage or call
(601) 267-3043.

We are committed to working swiftly to restore power once conditions are safe and damage
assessments have been completed. We thank our members for their cooperation and
patience as we navigate Hurricane Francine together.

Please visit www.centralepa.com or tune in to your local radio station for outage information.
