Deputies, Firefighters Respond to Possible Lightning-Related Fire in Neshoba

Neshoba County deputies and volunteer firefighters were called out Wednesday night, September 3, to a report of a structure fire on Hwy 19 South near County Rd. 450.

The call came in around 8:20 p.m. after the homeowner noticed smoke coming from underneath their deck. They told responders they believed a lightning strike to their pool pump may have been the cause.

It is unclear whether an actual fire broke out or if any significant damage occurred. No injuries were reported.
