Storm victims in Neshoba County are among those eligible for federal disaster assistance after the White House approved the state’s request for individual assistance following the severe weather that hit Mississippi two months ago.  Tornadoes and straight-line winds from April 8th through the 11th heavily damaged or destroyed 21 homes in Neshoba County.  Storm victims in Scott, Humphreys, Madison, Hinds and Hancock counties were also approved for the assistance which includes grants to cover temporary housing and home repairs along with low-interest loans for uninsured property losses and other disaster programs.  Those who qualify can register online at Disaster Assistance dot gov or can call 1-800-621-FEMA.
