Leake County authorities have confirmed the drowning of 43-year-old John Daniel Fanning on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred in a pond behind a residence on Reformation Road.
Despite efforts by a family member and first responders, Fanning could not be revived.
According to Leake County Coroner Earl Adams, he may have suffered a cardiac event while wading in the water.
