A two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler occurred on Highway 15 North near County Road 383 in Philadelphia earlier today, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Lauren G. Stewart of Little Rock.
Authorities report that an 18-wheeler traveling south on Highway 15 collided with a pickup truck that was pulling out onto the highway from County Road 383. The impact caused the 18-wheeler to overturn, trapping the driver inside for more than 30 minutes. Emergency crews eventually extracted the driver, who was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
Lauren G. Stewart, the driver of the pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. The roadway remains blocked as responders clear the wreckage.
