MORTON, Miss.–A former Lake Middle School teacher has been arrested and charged with sexual battery of a minor by a person in authority.
Mark Jones, 47, faces seven counts of that charge after a report was filed Aug. 17, and a subsequent forensic interview of the victim.
No identifying information on the victim was provided, so it is not clear how old the child is. No information on the circumstances surrounding the assault was provided.
Jones was arrested Sept. 5. His bond was set at $500,000.
