Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves has extended the deadline for property tax payments in storm‑impacted counties, including Leake, to March 3, 2026. The move gives residents extra time to pay without penalties following severe winter storms.

Leake County taxpayers can make payments at the Tax Collector’s office in Carthage or online through the county’s official website. Officials encourage residents to confirm payment methods and hours to ensure timely submission.

“This extension provides relief for families and businesses affected by the storms,” Gov. Reeves said in a statement. Local officials remind residents this extension applies only to ad valorem property taxes.
