Kosciusko native advances to primary runoff in South Carolina Congressional race

A Kosciusko native is headed to runoff in a congressional race in South Carolina.

Sheri Biggs finished second in the Republican primary for South Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District.

Biggs graduated from Kosciusko High School in 1988.  She’s a nurse practitioner and a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard.

She was one of seven Republicans running for that open seat. She picked up 29% of the vote in Wednesday’s primary, trailing Mark Burns by about 3500 votes.

The runoff election will be held June 25.
