Kosciusko Teen Found Guilty of Murder

Jarmarion Thompson, 18 of Kosciusko, was found guilty of murder on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in connection with the July 2023 shooting death of 21-year-old Jamel Davis of Kosciusko.

Davis was shot at his home in the 500 block of West Adams Street on Thursday, July 20, 2023. He was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala Emergency Department where he was later pronounced dead.

Jarmarion Thompson was 17 at the time of the murder, but has been tried as an adult.

The murder trial began on Tuesday, September 10, and concluded on Wednesday, September 11, with the jury finding Thompson guilty of first-degree murder.

Jarmarion Thompson will be sentenced on Monday, September 16, 2024.
