The Leake Academy Rebels traveled to Louisville this afternoon to play the Patriots of Winston Academy. The Patriots opened strong in the bottom of the first inning scoring 3 runs to take an early lead. The Rebels cut the lead to 1 run in the top of the second inning scoring 2 runs. The game remained 3-2 Patriots until the top of the 6th inning when the Rebels scored 2 runs to go ahead 4-3, however, the Patriots scored 1 run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 4-4. The game went into extra innings remaining tied until the top of the ninth inning when the Rebels scored 1 run to go ahead 5-4 and then held the Patriots scoreless in the bottom of the inning to win the game 5-4. Our next broadcast of Leake Academy Rebels baseball will be this Thursday night at Madden at 6:00pm when the Patriots of Winston Academy come to town to play game two of the series.
