A Leake County man was arrested when a large amount of narcotics and multiple firearms were found in a home on Pearl Hill Road.

Sheriff Randy W. Atkinson says deputies, investigators, and agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics spent several hours conducting an operation that lead to the arrest.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Quincy Nicklas Hughes after recovering approximately 395 grams of methamphetamine, 54 grams of spice, 10 grams of marijuana, and five firearms from the residence.

The sheriff’s office says there was nearly a pound of methamphetamine seized, and they estimate the street value to be roughly $10,000.
No injuries were reported during the operation, and officials say public safety remained a top priority throughout the operation.
