Leake County First Responders Tackle Multiple Incidents Tuesday Afternoon

On Tuesday afternoon, Leake County emergency services were busy responding to several incidents. Deputies, EMS, and Thomastown Volunteers were called to a one-vehicle crash on Waggoner Road where the vehicle had flipped over, though no injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, the Carthage Fire Department, assisted by the Mississippi Forestry Commission, was dispatched to a grass fire on Presley Road. Additionally, Edinburg Volunteers and the Leake Correctional Fire Department responded to another grass fire on Highway 16 E near McAffee Road. The Leake Correctional Firefighters, arriving first, found the fire nearly extinguishede, allowing Edinburg to cancel their response.

In a separate incident, Madden Volunteers were sent to a grass fire on Dr. Brantley Road, just inside Leake County.
