Leake County residents have an opportunity to safely dispose of unused prescription drugs as part of a statewide effort to combat addiction and overdose deaths.

Attorney General Lynn Fitch, in partnership with Sheriff Randy W. Atkinson, is encouraging seniors attending the Leake County Senior Citizens Day/TRIAD event to bring their unused medications for proper disposal. A designated drop-off table will be set up by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office to ensure safe collection.

Important Reminder: Intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes, and needles will not be accepted.

Keep prescription drugs out of the wrong hands! Keep them safe! Clean them out! Take them back!
