Leake First Responders Respond to Several Incidents Sunday

First responders in Leake County managed several incidents on Sunday afternoon.

A head-on collision on Hwy 16 E near Pearl Hill Rd. left one vehicle in a ditch and another in the roadway. No injuries were reported, and the scene was cleared.

The Carthage Fire Department responded to a field fire on Wiggins Loop Rd., where flames reached the base of a power pole, causing a power outage. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the power company was notified.

Madden Volunteer Fire Department dealt with an ATV fire on Hwy 488 near Jolly Rd., which posed a threat to a nearby boat. No injuries were reported in this incident.

Leake Deputies and MS Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Hwy 492 near the Scott County line. The caller stated that someone ran them off the road causing their vehicle to flip. No injuries were reported.
