Samuel “Sammy” Ellis, 69 of Carthage, tragically lost his life on the evening of Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Mr. Ellis was traveling along Hwy 16 in his motorized wheelchair when he was struck by a vehicle.
Carthage Police, EMS, and Carthage Fire Department all quickly responded to the scene.
Mr. Ellis was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Leake where he later succumbed to his injuries.
This incident is still under investigation.
