Man Hospitalized After Carthage Shooting

A man was shot Tuesday evening while driving on Hayes Street in Carthage.

Carthage Police were alerted to gunfire on Hayes Street at around 10 p.m. While officers were investigating the reports, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Leake notified officers of a gunshot victim in their emergency department.

The victim, who was shot in the arm, received treatment and has since been released from the hospital.

Chief Billy McMillan says there are no suspects at this time. The Carthage Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
