The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will celebrate the brilliance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with its annual “Mozart Magic” Chamber Concert, set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 9, at The Ellis Theater.
This long-standing mid-winter favorite features Mozart’s dramatic Overture to Don Giovanni, Georg Abraham Schneider’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola, and Mozart’s majestic Symphony No. 39. The program highlights the composer’s enduring influence while showcasing MSO musicians Ausra Jasineviciute (viola) and Ruvim Echiusciu (violin).
“This is it. It doesn’t get better than this,” said MSO’s Artistic Operations Director and Principal Horn Richard Hudson, praising the featured symphony.
Tickets start at $26.30 and are available at www.ellistheater.org or by calling 601-653-5358. The box office opens at 6:30 p.m. on concert night.
