Multiple Leake Academy Rebels Mississippi Association of Coaches MAIS 5A All-State football team.
George Wilcox, Ben Jackson, and Matthew Nowell earned honors for their performances during the 2023 season.
All three players were named to the first team offense, Wilcox as quarterback and Jackson and Nowell as wide receivers.
During the 2023 season, Wilcox passed for 3098 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also had six rushing touchdowns.
Most of those passing touchdowns Wilcox threw were to either Nowell or Jackson.
Nowell finished the season with 62 catches for 1129 yards and 13 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jackson reeled in 43 catches for six touchdowns.
The trio helped lead Leake Academy to the 2nd round of the MAIS playoffs.
