New Year’s Day Brings Multiple Disturbance Calls Across Philadelphia

Philadelphia and Neshoba authorities were busy responding to a series of incidents on New Year’s Day.

  • 12:13 a.m.: Philadelphia Police were dispatched to East Myrtle St. after a report of someone banging on a resident’s door.
  • Simultaneously, officers responded to Valley View Drive where gunfire was reported. The caller stated that their neighbors were standing outside shooting guns.
  • 12:16 a.m.: Neshoba Deputies were called to County Road 359 near Hwy 21 after fireworks and gunshots were allegedly fired toward a home.
  • 2:38 a.m.: Police were sent to Carver Ave. for a dispute between two women, one reportedly threatening to shoot the other.
  • 4:00 a.m.: Deputies responded to a disturbance on BIA 0228 near Hwy 488 involving several intoxicated individuals arguing in the roadway alongside their vehicles.
  • 3:17 p.m.: The Philadelphia Fire Department extinguished a grass fire on Evergreen Avenue North.

    Well I live on 359 and I believe that it was a Karen type that made that call nobody was doing any fireworks at this time last night
