Pearl River Resort Recognized with National Award Nomination

CHOCTAW, Miss. (June 10, 2026) — Pearl River Resort, an enterprise of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, has been nominated for the national PLANSPONSOR Plan Sponsor of the Year award, a recognition highlighting organizations that demonstrate strong retirement and financial wellness programs for employees.

The nomination places Pearl River Resort among a select group of employers nationwide recognized for efforts to strengthen retirement readiness and expand financial benefits for their workforce.

Representatives from the tribe attended the awards event in Nashville, Tennessee, including Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben, along with Krisan Williams and Kelli Jones. Pearl River Resort was represented by Chief Financial Officer Joseph Castillo.

In a statement, Castillo said the nomination reflects ongoing work by leadership and benefits staff to expand resources available to employees.

“This nomination reflects the strong commitment our leadership and benefits teams have made to providing meaningful resources and opportunities for our employees,” Castillo said. “We are honored to be recognized on a national stage and remain focused on empowering our team members to achieve long-term financial success.”

Pearl River Resort officials said the organization continues to evaluate and enhance employee benefits programs with a focus on long-term financial wellbeing and workforce support.
