Property stolen from a home in Carthage

4:47 a.m. – Leake County Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance in progress at a residence on Shoemaker Road in the Walnut Grove area.

2:37 p.m. – Carthage Police responded to a call regarding stolen property from a residence on Old Canton Road.

5:29 p.m. – Carthage Police responded to a call reporting a disturbance in progress at a resident on Collier Street.

6:04 p.m. – Leake County Deputies were called to a domestic disturbance in progress in the parking lot of Dollar General in Singleton.

6:54 p.m. – Leake County Deputies responded to a call reporting a mule loose in the roadway on Highway 16 East in the Edinburg area. MS Highway Patrol was notified, and deputies dispatched to the area to search for it. At 7:33 p.m. it was reported that a vehicle struck the mule on Highway 16 near Rice Creek Road, damaging the vehicle and killing the animal. The individual(s) in the vehicle were not injured.

7:49 p.m. – Barnes Volunteer Fire Department and Leake County Deputies were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on Highway 35 North near Cager Road. A vehicle struck a deer there. The wreckage blocked the roadway until emergency personnel could clear it away. No injuries were reported.

8:28 p.m. – Carthage Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to a two-vehicle crash in front of Exxon gas station on Highway 35 North. One person was injured and transported to the hospital.
