Several Wrecks Reported Thursday in Leake

Several wrecks were reported Thursday in Leake and Carthage, though no serious injuries were reported.

At 7:40 a.m., Leake County Deputies and EMS responded to an overturned vehicle on Hwy 492 near the Leake/Scott County line.

Shortly after, around 8 a.m., another crash occurred on Hwy 35 North, involving Leake Deputies and Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Later in the morning, emergency crews were dispatched to Gunter Road, where a vehicle had veered into a ditch.

In Carthage, police and fire units responded to a wreck on Hwy 16 West near Dirt Cheap.

Carthage Fire Department, Leake County Deputies, EMS, and MS Hwy Patrol were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 35 N just outside the city limits at 3:20 p.m. One person was transported to the hospital by ambulance with complaints of back pain.
