The death of prominent Leake County insurance agent, Charles David Weber, is being investigated by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Leake County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sheriff Randy W. Atkinson, the death investigation results from apparent gunshot wounds. Leake County Coroner, Earl Adams says Weber’s body has been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
In a statement, the MBI said they are currently gathering information and collecting evidence surrounding the death that occurred on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The investigation is open and ongoing.
