Six men arrested in connection with recent drive by shooting in Philadelphia, MS

Kicks 96 News has received an update on a shooting that occurred on February 19, 2024 in Philadelphia, MS.

Philadelphia Chief of Police, Eric Lyons says 6 individuals have been arrested in connection with the drive by shooting that occurred on Valley View Dr. where a 22-year-old male was shot in the foot.  This man is now home recovering from his injuries.

18-year-old Lamarion Holden shot back at the vehicle involved in the drive by shooting and struck a neighbor’s truck. He was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits resulting in property damage.

Officers obtained a vehicle description and the license plate number of the vehicle involved in the shooting by using Flock cameras.  That vehicle was located on Cherry Ave. and three men who were inside the vehicle were taken into custody.  Officers recovered three guns including one stolen firearm inside the vehicle that is believed to have been used in the shooting.

The three men arrested on Cherry Ave. are: Emanuel Boyd, 21 of Carthage; Jalen Burch, 20 of Carthage; and Nicholas Green, 20 of Philadelphia.

Chief Lyons says that additional information led to the arrest of two juveniles: Damaria Rush, 16 of Philadelphia and A’braveon Robinson, 17 of Philadelphia.

It is believed that all five of these men were inside the same vehicle and targeted an individual at a residence in the 500 block of Valley View Dr.  The 22-year-old male who was struck in the foot by a bullet is not believed to be the target.

Boyd, Burch, and Green were arrested and booked in for 2 counts of drive by shooting and possession of a stolen firearm.

Rush and Robinson were both arrested and charged as adults and booked in for 2 counts of drive by shooting.
