Smith Creek Road House Fire Leaves One Dead

The Leake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that there was a house fire on Smith Creek Road. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the fire took place on May 24th. Investigators were informed of the possibility of a person being inside of the fully engulfed home. Fire investigators were called in as well as the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s office to conduct an investigation. One person is confirmed to have died as the investigation continues. No names have been released at this time.
