Suspicious Persons, Disturbances, and an Arrest Make for a Busy Day in Leake

Authorities responded to several incidents in the early hours of Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Carthage Police were dispatched to a family disturbance on Martin Luther King Dr. at 12:30 a.m., where the homeowner requested the removal of individuals causing trouble.

Shortly before 1 a.m., officers were alerted to a suspicious person dressed in black walking between houses on Debra St.

Around 4 a.m., Leake County Deputies were called to a residence on Hwy 25 South near Drysdale Rd. after a caller reported a man screaming outside. The suspect was arrested for trespassing and disturbing the peace.

Later, at 6 a.m., deputies responded to a vehicle in a ditch on Hwy 429 near Cooper Rd., but the driver managed to free the car and continued on their way.
