Today is first responders appreciation day at the Mississippi State Fair. According to state fair officials, admission is free for all police officers, first responders, firefighters, healthcare workers and medical professionals. Identification will be required at the gate. The day was established as a special thank you. The Mississippi State Fair opens today. Official ribbon cutting is at 5pm.
