A juvenile was taken to a behavioral health center after stealing a vehicle from his mother in Carthage on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Carthage Police Department (CPD) responded to a call from a female stating that her son took her vehicle from Huddle House while she was inside the restaurant. Leake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Deputies assisted Carthage Police, and the vehicle was soon found backed into a ditch on South Valley St. The juvenile was also discovered nearby. Carthage Police Chief, Billy McMillan says that it was due to teamwork between CPD and LCSO that the situation was resolved so quickly. Law Enforcement transported the juvenile to a behavioral health center and the vehicle was returned to the mother.
