The East Central Community College basketball teams were back in action today at the Bracken-Wood Gymnasium in Decatur hosting Northwest Community College from Senatobia. The Lady Warriors were hoping to pick up a much needed win to improve their changes for post season play but the Lady Rangers were determined to not allow that to happen at their expense. At halftime the Lady Rangers were leading the game by 9 points, 33-24. The Lady Warriors came back strong in the third quarter to overcome the deficit and take a 4 point lead in the game, 47-43 however the Lady Rangers surged back in the final quarter to win the game by 5 points, 61-56. The Lady Warriors are now 14-9 overall and 3-6 in the district.
The Warriors would improve on their 3 game winning streak defeating the Rangers by 8 points, 78-70. The Warriors enjoyed a 6 point lead at halftime, 43-37 and continued to outscore the Rangers in the second half. The Warriors are now 18-12 overall and 4-5 in the district.
Our next broadcast of East Central Community College Warriors basketball on Cruisin 98 will be next Monday at 5:30pm when the Warriors will host the Wolves of Co-Lin Community College from Wesson.
