It’ll be hot again today in Mississippi but we won’t have a heat advisory in this area because, even though temperatures will be back in the mid 90s, the humidity shouldn’t be quite as bad. Don’t get your hopes up too much, but there’s a chance that the weather pattern, at least in some parts of the state, could be changing pretty soon.
“There are some signs that we may see that first real cool front of the year coming down.”
Logan Poole at the National Weather Service in Jackson says we can keep our fingers crossed for a cool-down toward the end of next week.
“Maybe even into the 80s for highs, which doesn’t sound truly remarkable yet, but it’s going to feel a lot different if that’s able to happen.”
Fall is less than two weeks away. And Poole says…
“Before you know it, we’ll be having nights that are longer than the days and that makes a tremendous seasonal difference.”
And believe it or not…
“We may only be 30-45 days away from looking at some sort of frost risk.”
But, for the time being, the hot weather continues.
