CHOCTAW, Miss. (July 31, 2026) – The Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise (CRDE) Board of Directors and Chief Cyrus Ben today announced the retirement of Tim Hill, President & Chief Executive Officer of Pearl River Resort, and the appointment of Joseph “Joe” Castillo as Interim President & Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2026.
Hill retired on July 31, 2026, concluding a successful tenure marked by operational growth, financial achievement, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the mission of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
“On behalf of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, we thank Tim Hill for his leadership, dedication, and service to Pearl River Resort,” said Chief Cyrus Ben. “His contributions have helped strengthen our organization and position it for continued success. We wish Tim and his family all the best as he begins this well-deserved chapter of retirement.”
Following Hill’s retirement, the CRDE Board of Directors appointed Castillo to lead the organization during this transition.
“Joe Castillo has been an important part of our organization’s success, and we have full confidence in his ability to lead Pearl River Resort forward,” said Chief Ben. “His experience, leadership, and commitment to our Associates, guests, and Tribal community make him the right person for this role. We are not starting over. We are entering the next chapter with someone who helped write the last one.”
Castillo most recently served as Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, where he played a key role in the Resort’s financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth initiatives. Throughout his tenure, he has worked closely with executive leadership, Associates, and Tribal leadership to strengthen the Resort’s position as a premier gaming, hospitality, and entertainment destination.
As Interim President & CEO, Castillo will oversee all operations of Pearl River Resort, including Silver Star Hotel & Casino, Golden Moon Hotel & Casino, Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, Geyser Falls Water Theme Park, Bok Homa Casino, and Crystal Sky Casino.
