Mississippi Blood Services is encouraging area residents to donate blood during a mobile blood drive scheduled at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

The drive will take place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, giving community members an opportunity to help replenish blood supplies that support hospitals and patients across Mississippi. Walk-ins are welcome, and donors will receive a special thank-you gift at the time of donation.

The Philadelphia event is one of several East Mississippi mobile blood drives being held during the first week of June. Other nearby drives include:

  • June 3 – First Southern Bank, Columbia (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
  • June 5 – Walmart, Kosciusko (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
  • June 5 – Walmart, Newton (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
  • June 7 – Walmart, Meridian (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
  • June 8 – King’s Daughters Hospital, Brookhaven (1:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

Mississippi Blood Services issued the appeal for donors on June 2, noting that blood donations often decline during the summer months due to changing schedules, vacations, and other seasonal activities.

Despite the drop in donations, the need for blood remains constant—and can increase—because of accidents, emergencies, surgeries, and ongoing medical treatments.

“Be a hero in your community,” organizers said, emphasizing that each donation can make a difference for patients in need.
