The Leake Academy Rebels were at home in Madden for doubleheader varsity baseball action hosting the Cougars of Simpson Academy from Mendenhall. The Cougars scored 3 runs to 1 run for the Rebels to win game in seven innings, 3-1. In game two, the Cougars won the game by 4 runs, 11-7. Simpson jumped out to a 3 run lead in the top of the first inning on a three run home run then added another 4 runs in the top of the 2nd inning before the Rebels removed the goose egg in the bottom of the inning by scoring 1 run. The Cougars picked up 1 run in the 3rd and 2 runs in the 4th to go ahead 11-1 going into the bottom of the 5th inning. The Rebels came to life in the 5th, scoring 3 runs to keep the game alive cutting the Simpson lead to 7 runs, 11-4. The Rebels would mount another comeback in the bottom of the 7th inning, scoring 3 runs to cut the lead down to 4 runs, 11-7 but that would end the scoring for the Rebels.
