Man Hits Horse West of Carthage, Second Wreck Happens Right After

CARTHAGE, Miss.–A man\s truck hit a horse early Saturday morning west of Carthage.

The 911 call came in just after midnight. The horse was hit on Hwy. 16 west, near the intersection with Hwy. 25. The man reported that he was not hurt, but his truck was disabled and he was not able to get it out of the highway.

The horse was also still walking around.

While volunteer firefighters with the Ofahoma Volunteer Fire Dept., were looking for the horse, one of the units that was on the way reported another crash near Willis Rd., with severe injuries.

It wasn’t clear from radio communications how that wreck happened or how many cars or people were involved.
