Attala is one of 18 counties the Trump administration has added to its federal disaster declaration following the ice storm in Mississippi. Local governments in Attala County are now eligible for public assistance to help cover the cost of debris removal, emergency protective measures and restoration of public infrastructure. Sixteen other counties including Holmes, Carroll and Montgomery and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians had been approved previously.
