The National Weather Service is expecting an uptick in the danger of wildfires today. It says dry conditions along with low humidity and some gusty winds this afternoon could allow any fires to spread quickly. It says the humidity may not be quite as low tomorrow and Thursday but the fire danger may continue.
We’ve been fooled by the forecasts before, but this time the Weather Service says it’s becoming increasingly likely that we might get some significant rainfall across Mississippi this weekend as storms move through. It says up to four inches of rain could fall across the northern counties with as much as three inches as far south as I-20.
