Boswell Media’s Kicks 96 (WCKK-FM) and morning host Brian “B-MO” Montgomery have earned national recognition with nominations from the Academy of Country Music.
Kicks 96 has been nominated for Small Market Radio Station of the Year, while Montgomery and “B-MO in the MO’rning” received a nomination for Small Market On-Air Personality of the Year.
The nominations mark a historic milestone for Mississippi broadcasting. In the 61-year history of the Academy of Country Music Awards, Boswell Media is the first radio station in Mississippi ever nominated for an ACM Award.
Boswell Media General Manager Melissa Boswell Townsend said the nomination is a proud moment for Mississippi radio.
“We are thrilled to be Mississippi’s first radio station to be an ACM finalist for Small Market Radio Station of the Year and Morning Show Radio Host,” Boswell said. “I want to congratulate B-MO for this outstanding honor.”
Kicks 96 is part of Boswell Media, a family-owned company with five generations of broadcasting history in Mississippi. Montgomery said the recognition reflects the work of the entire Boswell Media team and the listeners who support local radio every day.
“This is truly an honor,” Montgomery said. “We’re grateful to the Academy of Country Music and the judges for their time and consideration. To represent Mississippi — the birthplace of America’s music — on a national stage is incredibly humbling.” Winners of the ACM Radio Awards will be announced during Country Radio Seminar (CRS), March 18-20 in Nashville. The 61st ACM Awards will take place at the world-renowned MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
