Leading the way were a pair of standout siblings. Samuel Prince was named the MAIS Class AAA Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year, while Sarah Prince earned Class AAA Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year, giving Leake Academy a rare sweep of the top individual awards in the classification.
Samuel Prince played a key role in guiding the Rebels to the MAIS Class AAA State Championship, delivering consistent leadership and standout performances throughout the season. His impact on both ends of the floor helped power Leake Academy through the postseason and secure the program’s title run.
On the girls’ side, Sarah Prince helped lead the Rebelettes to a Class AAA State Championship of their own. Her dominant all-around play and leadership made her one of the most complete players in MAIS basketball and a clear choice for the top individual honor.
The Rebelettes’ championship season was fueled by a deep and talented roster, which was reflected in the 2026 Class AAA Girls’ All-MAIS Team selections. Leake Academy had five players named to the prestigious list:
-
Jenna Allen
-
Kylee Boykin
-
Codi Breedlove
-
Hannah Clark
-
Addie Crowe
Having five players earn All-MAIS honors highlighted the strength and balance of the Rebelettes’ lineup during their championship run.
The leadership behind both championship teams was also recognized statewide.
Jason Morgan was named Class AAA Division I Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year, honoring the role he played in guiding the Rebels to the AAA State Championship and developing the AAA Boys Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, Amanda Hatch earned Class AAA Division I Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year after leading the Rebelettes to their AAA State Championship and helping develop one of the most talented rosters in the classification.
With state championships for both the boys and girls programs, multiple All-MAIS selections, two Players of the Year, and two Coaches of the Year, 2026 will go down as one of the most successful seasons in Leake Academy basketball history.
