After some severe weather rolled through Mississippi on the Fourth of July, more storms popped up this morning and most of the state, generally east of a Greenwood-Yazoo City- Vicksburg line, remains under a Level-1 “marginal” risk of damaging winds for this afternoon and evening.
Heat stress will continue to be another weather concern, although the only heat advisory today is for the northwestern corner of Mississippi. Elsewhere, heat index values approaching 105 degrees are possible across the northern portion of the local area today.
