As temperatures climb toward the century mark today and the humidity makes it feel even more miserable, thunderstorms could help to cool things off– but could come at a price. There’s a Level-1 “marginal” risk of isolated severe storms with damaging winds up to 60 miles an hour.
Highs today should range from the upper 90s in Kosciusko to near 100 elsewhere in the local area. The heat index is forecast to reach 109 in Kosciusko, 110 in Durant and 111 in Carthage and Philadelphia. A heat advisory will be in effect today.
