A cold front moving into this area late Tuesday could trigger some heavy rain and storms with a limited threat of localized flash flooding. There’s now a Level-1 “marginal” risk of isolated severe storms with damaging winds across most of the local area including Attala, Leake, Holmes, Carroll, Montgomery and Choctaw counties, along with much of Winston County and the northwestern part of Neshoba County. The National Weather Service says tornadoes can’t be ruled out as the line of storms pushes through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
The threat of flash flooding has been trimmed back in the local area, now including Holmes, Carroll, Montgomery and western Attala counties, from mid-afternoon Tuesday through early Wednesday.
