Authorities are investigating a deadly incident after a woman was found shot inside a vehicle early Friday morning.
According to Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Highway Patrol, troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 51 near State Park Road in Holmes County.
When they arrived, they found a female driver deceased inside the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.
Martin said another passenger was inside the vehicle at the time but was not injured.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is now handling the case. Officials say the investigation is open and ongoing, and no additional information will be released at this time.
