The Leake Academy varsity basketball teams played host to East Rankin Academy from Pelahatchie tonight at the Joe F Shepard Gymnasium in Madden. The big game of the night featured the 18-0 Lady Rebels facing the 18-0 defending champion Lady Patriots. It was a hard fought low scoring game but the Lady Rebels held the lead being up by 6 points at halftime, 25-19 and building to an 11 points victory, 48-37 when the horn sounded in the final quarter. The Rebels also came away with a big win defeating the Patriots by 40 points, 71-31 to improve their season record to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in the district. Our next broadcast of Leake Academy basketball on Boswell Media Sports on Cruisin 98 will be Friday, December 27 beginning at 2:30pm when the teams travel to play Choctaw High School in the Neshoba Central Christmas Classic.
