CARTHAGE, Miss.–A man was reported laying in the road at the intersection of Hwy. 16 and Arbor Acres Rd. Saturday night just before 7.
A few minutes later someone reported to 911 that the man had been run over by a car and that his brother was loading him into a car to get him to the hospital.
When a Leake County deputy caught up to them, he was able to determine that the man actually fell off of a fence and was not run over.
The deputy reported that meth may have been a factor in that.
It was unclear if an arrest was made and how the injured man was doing.
