WALNUT GROVE, Miss.–A gathering may have gotten out of hand Saturday night in Walnut Grove on Hwy. 492. Leake County dispatchers got multiple calls about loud music and ATVs going up and down roadways near the prison.
One woman called and said the people riding were turning around in her driveway.
The party was apparently supposed to be confined to a field and the organizer had security. When deputies finally got there, the people riding the ATVs agreed to keep them behind the gate in the field.
Some people may have also had weapons, at least when they got to the gathering.
“They have security up there and they are confiscating all weapons and holding them,” said one deputy.
Deputies responded to the calls shortly after 8 p.m. and left shortly after 9.
