Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons announced that Alexis Terrell (31) and Robert Hunter (41) (photo unavailable), both of Newton County, have been charged with manslaughter following the death of their infant in July.

On July 8, 2024, officers and EMS responded to a residence on A Avenue, where a baby was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at Neshoba General Hospital.

Toxicology reports revealed a large amount of methamphetamine in the infant’s system. Investigators discovered that both parents frequently used drugs in the home.

Child Protective Services (CPS) removed other children from the residence during the investigation.
