PHILADELPHIA, Miss.–A man threatened to kill his mother, himself, and all of her grandkids, according to police radio traffic Saturday evening.
The dispatcher said the mother had called 911 just before 5:30 p.m. saying the 27-year-old man had a history of mental illness, but she took his threats seriously and asked if police could pick him up. The call was on Hwy. 16 West, on the east side of Philadelphia.
Police discovered the man had a warrant out for his arrest for contempt of court.
An ambulance was called and the man was taken to the hospital. It wasn’t clear if he would be taken to jail after being treated.
