Carthage and Leake Authorities Respond to Multiple Crashes Thursday

Carthage Police and Leake County first responders managed several incidents on Thursday, January 2.

At 7:19 a.m., Carthage Police were called to Fair Oil after a customer reportedly ran over the gas pumps. Later, just before 1 p.m., officers responded to a minor two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy 35 and Hwy 16. No injuries were reported in either incident.

In the evening, at 7:36 p.m., Leake County Deputies, MS Hwy Patrol, and Barnes Volunteer Firefighters were dispatched to Hwy 25 in the Renfroe area, where a vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported.

Finally, at 11:23 p.m., Deputies, MS Hwy Patrol, and Reformation Volunteer Firefighters responded to another crash involving a vehicle and a deer on Hwy 35 N near Cager Rd. No one was injured in this incident either.
