Several local law enforcement agencies recently teamed up with the Main Street Chamber of Leake County and partnered with Leake County Child Protective Services to hold a toy drive to benefit children in Leake County.
Gifts for children ages 1-12 were taken to designated drop off locations and will now be given to families in need.
CPD Chief Billy McMillan says, “I would like to personally thank each and every person who contributed to this year’s toy drive. Because of everyone’s generosity, more than 50 children will have Christmas this year. The spirit of Christmas and our giving hearts will make this Christmas experience memorable. I want to thank all the law enforcement agencies that came together along with the Leake County Main Street Chamber to make this happen for these kids. It truly is amazing what can be accomplished when we all come together.”
These law enforcement agencies: Carthage Police Department, Leake County Sheriff’s Office, Walnut Grove Police Department, MHP Troop H along with Main Street Chamber of Leake County all partnered with Leake County Child Protective Services hoping to bring joy and cheer to Leake County children in need.
